Well [C]I had a car and I had a girl and they brought me trouble you s[G]ee.
[G]Every time I started down south, my Chevy konked out on m[C]e.

Well, I m[C]ade it to the corner 'bout a quarter 'til four and I turned down the gravel r[G]oad.

I c[G]ouldn't believe it when I heard her say she didn't wanna see me no m[C]ore.
Well my h[F]eart was broke 'cause it w[C]asn't a joke, I started w[G]alking and my eyes turned r[C]ed.
I [F]fixed the flat, put the j[C]ack in the back an w[G]ondered why I'd ever s[C]aid
